Well, 5G networks are previously expected to be deployed starting in 2020 which is still three years away. Now, Verizon is taking yet another step and announced that they would be rolling out “pre-commercial” 5G Service to customers in 11 cities around the US this year. The cities which will get to test the 5G Networks are Ann Arbor, Atlanta, Bernardsville (NJ), Brockton (MA), Dallas, Denver, Houston, Miami, Sacramento, Seattle, and Washington, D.C. Selected customers in the mentioned cities can participate in the trial. Well, it will be worth noticing that the speed that is being promised by 5G connectivity might be a game-changer for wireless connectivity. Samsung previously claimed that by using the ultra-high broadcast frequencies, 5G connectivity would deliver the data transfer speeds that are up to 200 times faster than current 4G networks. According to Droid-life “Verizon is calling this pre-commercial 5G, as they work to fully commercialize broadband (or fixed) wireless 5G connections to both homes and businesses.”
